About Fitovo

Fitovo is a training app for adults between roughly 40 and 65 who want to stay strong, capable and independent for decades, not shredded for a season. It combines three training pillars (bodyweight, strength and the Norwegian 4×4 interval protocol) with easy-aerobic Zone 2 work and short recovery practices. Each morning it scores readiness from the user's own overnight data, and each week it rebuilds the plan around what their life actually contains. Fitovo costs £9.99 a month or £59.99 a year after a 14-day free trial.

The problem Fitovo addresses is that mainstream fitness apps are built for a 25-year-old's body and a 25-year-old's free time. Users in midlife train around a desk job, family, old injuries and uneven sleep, and the strongest predictors of how well they age (cardiorespiratory fitness, strength, recovery, daily activity, sleep) are barely surfaced by apps built around streaks and calorie rings.

Fitovo's approach is adaptive and rules-based rather than rigid. A readiness engine reads overnight heart-rate variability, resting heart rate and sleep from Apple Health (or an Oura ring) and explains, in one plain sentence, what it means for today. A scheduling engine then builds the week: it detects recurring activities such as five-a-side or a club ride from Apple Health history and plans around them, credits hard sessions the user logs elsewhere by shrinking what Fitovo prescribes, and keeps a twice-weekly strength floor grounded in the research on ageing. When the plan wants to change, it proposes and explains; it never silently rewrites the week, and there is no streak or guilt mechanic anywhere in the app.

The flagship number is Fitovo Age: a fitness age recomputed weekly from five weighted domains (cardio 30%, strength 25%, recovery 20%, activity 15%, sleep 10%), each mapped through published mortality research. It is presented as training guidance built from the user's own data, not a diagnosis, and every biometric screen in the app carries that framing.

About the developer

Fitovo is built by Kulvinder Maingi, founder of Rawleaf Ltd in London: a dad with a desk job and a Thursday football habit who found every training app he tried was built for someone half his age. Fitovo is the app he wanted to exist, one that takes the 40 to 65 body seriously. He is happy to talk about the research behind Fitovo Age, building an adaptive training engine as a solo founder, and designing fitness software without streaks or shame.
